CLM UNITS VERSION 7 INFORMATION - UPDATED SEPT 2006 1. Upgrade your computer's Operating System (e.g., OS 9, OS 10, or XP) to assure that the CLM Installer works properly. For example, if your Operating System (OS) on your computer is OS 10.2, you must load 10.2.8 operating system. These should be free downloads. ¥ If you do NOT upgrade your operating system, the installer is likely to attempt to re-load Acrobat Reader (required for PDF documents) or QuickTime (required for videos to play). This may be unnecessary if they are already installed on your machine. ¥ If Acrobat Reader or QuickTime programs are loaded on your computer, you can save some time by 'Canceling' the install of either program. ¥ If you find that you do need either program, you can manually load them at anytime. The program installers for QuickTime and Acrobat are located on each CD-ROM in the folder named '3rd Party Software. 2. Here is a list of the new features in version 7.0 of the CLM Units: ¥ Touch the video screen with the cursor and a control bar appears below the video image. Push the play button on the control bar to play the video. Also, you can easily pause the video or move it back and forth using this control bar. Push the 'ZOOM' button and larger image of the video appears. ¥ There are four new buttons in the lower section of each unit (i.e., Glossary, Notes, Tracking, and SAFMEDS). The use of each new feature is described in the Tutorials. Note these features will be automatically carried over from one CLM Unit to the other. For example, your notes will accumulate as you move through each unit. If you use a different computer, you must copy a set of files to carry over your records from the original computer to the new computer. You must copy all the content in your CLM Units v7 folder. - This folder on the Windows computer is located in your Programs folder that is located on your 'C drive' in 'My Computer'. - This folder on the Macintosh computer is located in your 'Applications' folder in your Macintosh Hard Drive. Note, if you want to change to another Macintosh computer it MUST have the same operating system. That is, if you have been using an OS 9 then you must continue to use an OS 9. 3. Please study the new Tutorial that is located in your CD case for your computer's operating system. There are two Tutorials for the CLM Course of Study. There is one for the Macintosh and another one for the Windows computer. When you opened your CD-ROM cases you may have noticed that both Tutorials are located in the front of each case. Also note that each one is two-sided. 4. The best resolution settings for your computers are likely to be 1024 x 768. For the Windows operating system this is a MUST for the CDs to function properly in most cases. The more RAM installed on your computer the better. The units work most efficiently if 128 mega-bytes are installed. 5. Troubleshooting solutions will be posted on our website as new ones are discovered. Our website URL is www.tuccionline.com.
